This June 23rd will mark the 80th anniversary (1944) of the Shinnston Tornado that struck West Virginia, killed more than 100 people and left a close-knit mining town devastated – both interpersonally and infrastructurally.  To this day, it remains one of the deadliest tornadoes in US history.
